To be clear: Are you talking about a wider project again? Or just the crossings and benches?

There's no wider project.

There's a longer-term suggestion, but it's an outline vision of what could be. Nothing firm. As in the article:

Regardless of the answer, the third paragraph says "Work on the half-finished zebra crossings was abandoned last year after a number of councillors insisted that the zebra crossings and street benches needed public consultation, as this website reported last September." And links to that report too.

As mentioned in my reply to your comment on Facebook, the article covers how the officials apologised.

Sone councillors mentioned that they wouldn't be delaying the crossings but they clearly did.

And should two very simple crossings require public consultation?

I had loosened the cargo bike's frozen brakes and gears on my first short trip this morning and within about a half hour I had to out again and both were frozen again!

...at that point they were hostile to the policy.

This is not an isolated issue, under his run as Minister there was quite a few policy issues claimed to be operational issues (a trend that seems to be continuing in the Department).

While the Government has made decisions to reduce public transport funding (to fund roads more), they are fairly strong on their support for MetroLink.

Eamon Ryan removed the clear policy that bikes would be allowed on MetroLink, he failed to direct the NTA and it was well known...

Does a policy decision on metro carrying bicycles or not hold back it getting built?

Thanks! I've also added some data to it. We're talking about a few busloads of people who were blocking buses carrying many times that.
