Time to update my intro!

I'm Chris Tihor, a game writer and designer, and founder of @ironiciconicstudios.ca. I've worked on a bunch of things but may be best known for working on Nancy Drew and Poirot games. More recently I worked on Monaco 2 and (the sadly cancelled) Life by You.

Currently at:
— only buy tech too old to have AI built in
— painstakingly disable AI every time they add it to something that used to work perfectly well
— if it can't be switched off, abandon the platform or tool
— if there are no good alternatives, avoid the AI parts
— patiently wait for the crash

found this in my notes, good advice for aspiring devs

Rules for Game Dev
1. The gamer is always gamer
2. Games aren't finished, only completed
3. Always keep at least one infinite loop in your game to trap malevolent spirits
4. Don't code the small stuff (it's all stuff)
5. Respect the seven axes of player motivation
6. A bad game is bad forever, but a broken game is right twice a day
7. It's not about who you know, it's about knowing who
8. Disregard the eighth axis of player motivation
9. You couldn't make Super Mario today. Try again tomorrow.
10. The game developer with the most victory points at the end is the winner
