may be beside the point/extremely obvious but i feel like you can only ignore extreme wealth inequality for so long before it metastasizes into something that fundamentally remakes and destabilizes the world by giving people access to so much money that they are fully above consequence

may be beside the point/extremely obvious but i feel like you can only ignore extreme wealth inequality for so long before it metastasizes into something that fundamentally remakes and destabilizes the world by giving people access to so much money that they are fully above consequence

Two and a half years ago (ish), Walsh's move to Barcelona set a new transfer record (£400k), now Chelsea are spending about double that to bring her back to the WSL, meaning they've just dropped about £1.7m on their two January signings. And that's just in fees and add-ons.

@tim-stillman.bsky.social if a club that always wins is willing to drop 1.6mil in Jan to strengthen their club and ours who had an extra £10mil revenue last year than them breaks even with 100k in&out, we won’t be able to compete now or in the future until the mindset changes. I’m so disheartened.
