Fair enough! And hope you'll see my point that now is not the time for more pro-Palestine protests ANYWHERE. ICE is the far bigger crisis and any pro-Palestine protests at the moment are just playing into Trump's hands, who will tell protesters they should be thanking him if he gets a ceasefire

To the National Guard members showing up unwanted in Illinois: you have a duty to reject unconstitutional orders. Don’t allow yourselves to be used as props. “Just following orders” won’t cut it. If you’re here, you’re just as guilty.

If it were a pro-Palestine protest, more power to them. But it's an ICE facility and the other people there who have family members stuck inside deserve a protest that is squarely focused on ICE and the torture of Latinos in Chicago

I'm very aware of that! I am at Broadview each week and a lot of the pro-Palestine protesters are there too, looping Gaza into what should be a protest against ICE and the horrifying conditions that Chicago detainees at the facility are in. So I just feel frustrated by the lumping together

I'm in Chicago, where local cops here were just gassed by ICE. I don't understand the refusal by activists in Atlanta or any city to differentiate between local police (who have names, badges, are unmasked) and ICE. The anti-Cop City movement targeted the former
