As we discuss how we remember & who we forget in regimes of memorialisation, might I point you to resources on 17 October 1961 - a significant date in French colonial history: French police drowned Algerian freedom fighters in the Seine. Lest we forget!

🚨BREAKING: The last journalists working for AFP in Gaza have said they can no longer work for the news agency.

They are out of energy and they are starving to death.

I have never seen a statement from a news organisation like it.

If you are not concerned by the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation because you think it doesn’t impact you, you are wrong.

This is an authoritarian abuse of power by the government & it curtails all of our civil liberties #r4today
On LBC @zoejardiniere.bsky.social lists 3 previous instances where military aircraft have been targeted by campaigners in order to prevent them being used in war crimes, and she describes the govt banning Palestine Action as terrorists as an abuse of state power.

Well said.

There are so many chilling lines in this piece but the one I can’t stop thinking about as a Black woman is, “Only after she was legally dead did doctors do everything in their power to keep her body alive”. Thank you @audrelawdamercy.bsky.social for speaking this painful truth.
Adriana Smith was brushed off when she went to the hospital in pain

She was braindead within hours

That was in February. Doctors performed a c-section on her on Friday.

They kept her on life support for months in order to avoid violating Georgia's abortion ban
