Also the “well *insert global south country here* treats its Black ppl and natives bad” okay and they have the double whammy SINCE THE US IS STILL BOMBING THEM AND THEYRE USUALLY THE CLOSEST TO SAID HARM

Like saying “it’s not just white Americans” != “it’s Black and Indigenous Americans mainly at fault“ nor is the former an inherently anti-Black statement.

The bases overlap at times but one side isn’t trying to make every developer create nothing but big titty woman games/unironic Duke Nukem with none of the tongue-in-cheekness

To be clear I am not immune to this! I have fallen into this trap! It is soooooo easy to get swept up in the wave of mass public outrage without taking a moment to stop and analyze what is happening

But if we are going to be Very Online then we have to try and do this, for ourselves and each other.

That’s really hard to do. It’s a tall order. It takes an enormous amount of self control and self awareness.

But emoting your psychic terror all over each other will never amount to real change. It is not how we heal the world.

If we turn against each other then our real enemies win.
