If the Democratic Party doesn’t do more to resist Trump, we will get destroyed, and we will deserve it.
Why does anyone, anywhere, at any time believe that this administration is operating in any mode other than monstrous bad faith.

ICE is teargassing kids.
I recorded this today, in Portland, Oregon, at a huge march to the ICE facility in SW. The crowd was full of cyclists who had ridden there in memory of Alex Pretti; members of several labor unions; and ordinary citizens of every age, including this little girl. So of course ICE deployed tear gas.

It still takes my breath away that they are so brazen in obstructing justice.
Bovino: "All agents that were involved in that scene are working, not in Minneapolis but in other locations. That's for this safety. There's this thing called doxxing. We're going to keep those employees safe."

Gestapo tactics will continue until you stop calling us Gestopo.
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

I will say this: the fact that some of the “smarter“ Trump Administration goons feel compelled to offer (insincere) expressions of sympathy means they know this has the potential to be their undoing.
WELKER: What is your response to Mr Pretti's family?

BLANCHE: We have nothing but sympathy for the family of him, but ...

I see that we are already rationalizing Dem capitulation on DHS funding in advance.
FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

After a little digging around, this gentleman appears to be a reliable source. I wonder if this is the kind of expert testimony that could be used in a criminal trial against a police officer claiming self-defense in a homicide related case.
🧵In my expert opinion as a researcher of vehicle ramming attacks, what has been publicly described in the video evidence does not support the claim that Renee Nicole Good was attempting a deliberate ramming attack when she was shot in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. 1/7

It has been an obvious, sometimes even almost stated project of Trump 2.0 to engineer a redo of the post George Floyd protests of 2020, this time with much more state violence. And now a federal agent has shot and killed a woman in a car at point blank range a mile from where Floyd was murdered.

The White House is laser focused on threatening a military takeover of Greenland.

Where’s the same focus on lowering costs?

Look folks, *Germany* is telling Steven Miller to cool it with the militarism.
Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul reminds the United States if they attack Greenland it'll be war with Europe: “Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. And since Denmark is a member of NATO, Greenland will, in principle, also be subject to NATO defence”.

I have tried to be measured in referring to the administration as “authoritarian” or “fascist.” I agree in principle that you shouldn’t label someone a Nazi unless the person’s words or actions cannot be attributed to anything else.

These people are Nazis.

Biden couldn’t unilaterally forgive student loans pursuant to a new category of statutory construction made up by the SCOTUS majority. Here Trump is unconstitutionally raiding the Treasury without congressional authorization. Who will sue to block this?
Q: Does it make sense for the president to use tariff revenue for farm aid? And tariff revenue goes into the Federal Treasury. Isn't in the Congress's power to spend that it as it sees fit?

THUNE: I think what the administration did in terms of using tariff revenue makes sense
