This is why there is absolutely no need for the USA to invade and take over their ally, Greenland. Want to re-open your military bases? No problem. Apply for a licence to access vital minerals? No problem.
DANISH PARLIAMENT MEMBER: “🇺🇸 had 30 bases on Greenland, why did you leave? You can resume that tomorrow without attacking a NATO ally… the rationale lacks factual foundation and doesn’t stand any logic testing.”

(Unless the point is to hurt us and end NATO, a Putin/Xi goal)

This is obscene. Why can't other politicians say that?

The 25 richest families are collectively $358.7 billion richer than a year ago, with a combined fortune totaling $2.9 trillion.

The World Cup draw is utter bollocks. Why would FIFA create a 'Peace Prize' and then give it to fucking Donald Trump?
It has nothing to do with football and it's just outrageous arse-licking.
Just do the bloody draw!!

I’m just going to say it…

It’s pretty damn validating to hear Barack Obama say the same things we’ve been shouting for months, and longer.

Best piece of news for a long time.
Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

UK subsidises energy prices in other countries.

Investors, state entities from Canada, France, Germany, Spain, Israel, Italy, Korea, Norway, UAE & the US own most of UK energy sector.

£514bn operating profit since 2020.

Profits/Dividends go abroad.

Britons pay the price of privatisation dogma.
If the government wants economic growth it must bring essential industries into public ownership
Successive governments clobber households and small businesses by hiking interest rates to manage inflation, but don’t inconvenience corporations.

And it all started with that nice Margaret Thatcher lady and her cronies........
UK public has paid £200bn to shareholders of privatised water, rail, bus, energy and mail services, mostly foreign owned.

Investment neglected. Regulators useless.

Often little/no competition, captive customers fleeced,, more pushed into poverty.

Privatisation is one of the biggest scams.
UK public has paid £200bn to shareholders of key industries since privatisation
Analysis reveals ‘privatisation premium’ of £250 per household per year paid to owners of water, rail, bus, energy and mail services since 2010

Lovely walk at Church-in-the-Wood today. Lots of dappled light and the wood and churchyard are still carpeted with wild garlic.
