I'm usually on alternative platforms, namely Alugha and the Story Graph for its positive use of technology. Gave up instagram, youtube, wikipedia and anything 'chronically online' as of 2024.

Tales of the chronically online:

1) Having a Greek pfp without engaging in meaningful ancient philosophy
2) Having a cat pfp without engaging/donating in charity movements.

A concrete example: Kant's Transcedental Deduction ignored in favor of his alleged 'manosphere'. Men just lie all the time🙄

I've always appreciated walking past the homeless on my way to work. I feel connected to their powerlessness and sense of defeat to life. That feeling of solidarity when we're both shadows where no one will mourn us is such a rare thing to have.

But they def lead a braver life than me.

Lichess Broadcasts of Super-GMs usually end in large draws. I've degoogled, so its a bit of a hassle to wait for another round just for a draw to happen. Not this time tho! Finally, here's a round full of losses.

Good Substack for the time period of 2025-2044. Not too grifty like most of contemporary astrology. Hits like medieval court astrology, where care was exceptionally taken at predicting and declaring negative things.

I have ideas on where i might disagree.

I may have given up on life, but I still remind myself a lot that I had a good life. I remembered the good bits. What I feel in the heart is more important than finding my own justice. I'd let my family's abuse take its course, but I would never forsake what my heart actually feels of real life.

The chronically online draws insane conclusions from trivial facts. There's nothing epistemologically motivating about their premises. Yet they blow things out of proportion with their rhetoric. There is a way to live life and it is often the same way one avoids arriving at insane conclusions.

I recently read a semi-prominent author's take on Lichess studies. I mistakenly thought the blogger had criticized the London System studies but instead he was immersed in 3 separate forum fights, misunderstood the entire nonprofit purpose, and fought over an icon's legacy. 🤦Lichess' underbelly.
