Weird thing forgot about: I also wrote the first gamefaqs walkthrough for Cave Story. Before it was translated, so I just made up the names for a bunch of shit. I still got emails like a decade later correcting me like "well actually this boss is named 'Balrog' not 'Toaster Frog.'" Gee, thanks.

Besides the fact that I DO think things generally will get better (for various reasons), i feel like NOT enjoying your life before things “get worse” is pointless. I’ve been pretty tired of the fear for a while now.

Yeah, me too. Besides all else you could look to for solace in the future, I’ve been working with the assumption everything’s going to work out besides that. I feel like it’s almost useless to worry about the worst outcome if it’s truly “going to happen anyway”, y’know?

I’m saying this as a full time software dev who works in linux, too. Some FOSS users + project runners seem surprised that everyone isn’t a fucking CS grad.

Lmaooo- I love this off-the-dome-rant style article writing. FOSS can be good, but yeah, anytime a FOSS acolyte tells an artist/musician/editor that linux can “completely replace windows ezpz, do it stupid” before they go back to writing software and gaming chess.com I want to liquify their eyes
