@skillagesteve.bsky.social thank you for the write up of The Magnificent O’Connors in Creamguide. Earlier this year another pod I worked on ended up in Popbitch, but nothing beats the validation of a Creamguide mention.

Thanks for letting me know and I am glad you enjoyed it. Yes the podcast is over but the O’Connors’ story is still ongoing!

Thanks a nice piece. I'm looking forward to the series immensely. With apologies to Jack for the hijack, but if anyone is interested in James O'Connor's TV plays, I wrote about them all (and what I could learn of his life) some years ago: www.britishtelevisiondrama.org.uk?p=6983

And I hope you enjoy the series. In addition to the story of his conviction, we cover Jimmy’s tv career and plenty more besides - and of course Nemone’s extraordinary life too.

It’s a great article Oliver, I read it while we were making the podcast.

An excellent article in today’s edition of The Observer that tees up The History Podcast: The Magnificent O’Connors. On air on Radio 4 this Wednesday at 09:30am with all episodes published on BBC Sounds on the same day

Arthur Askey appeared on both John Logie Baird's experimental broadcasts, and the last series of Swap Shop

Yeah they should. Or about the true Byzantine story behind the hunt for missing Doctor Who episodes (I don’t know what the true story is, but I have always thought it would make a great pod whatever it is).

Hmmm given they do The Lovecraft Investigations I would have thought it would be right up Rhian Roberts’ street. But, yes the BBC is an idiosyncratic organisation to deal with.

I am sure you have, but I will ask anyway, have you tried the Beeb?

My pal @graemeburk.bsky.social is launching a new podcast about comics. The first episodes tell the story of Siegel and Shuster and feature some breakthrough research. I've heard his work in progress and it's incredible. Find out more here... www.kickstarter.com/projects/gra...

Indeed the fact you’re in one mystery place getting clues about another mystery place is confusing
jackkibble-white.bsky.social
Watched Destination X last night. I thought the format didn’t really work. Seemingly, the contestants need to have no idea where they are, so the clues are 3-2-1 level difficult and therefore pointless (as demonstrated by the fact the contestant who got the most clues was the one eliminated).
