So I understand he or she wasn’t caught by police but by fleet vehicle tracking, shouldn’t the police have been notified and he or she turned in to the OPP? And he or she fired for noncompliance with employment responsibilities?

I thought our police and courts were independent of politics and government. If the staffer had been charged with violating the stunt driving laws, wouldn’t his or her penalty be purely at the discretion of police and a judge?

How much of that was the wind blowing in the wildfires from Manitoba and Northern Ontario, I wonder?

Time for speakers on the speed cams. "Speed kills," says Mayor Olivia Chow. She lists examples of people who lost their lives to speeding drivers in Toronto.

"Each tragedy is a painful reminder that behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a community that is forever changed."

As a Canadian, I do not get how unregulated campaign donations are in the states. In Canada, I cannot donate more than $1750 a year without breaking the law.

A picture of secret police on one side and text saying: The Conservatives want the Police do be like America’s secret police.

In Ontario, if I need an air ambulance it’s $45. The uber would be more expensive.

Exciting! Just heard.
Sadly it won’t the full service until February. Early December service will be from 10am-3pm weekdays and weekends from 10am-7pm only about every 20 minutes (additional services above existing Sunbury, Cranbourne, and Pakenham line schedules). Timetables change in February.

Canada does a half-half compromise: Edmonton (AB), Quebec City (QC), Victoria (BC), Regina (SK), Fredricton (NB) are not the largest cities of their respective provinces. But other provincial capitals are: Winnipeg (MB), Toronto (ON), St John’s (NL), Halifax (NS). Alberta & Saskatchewan are close.

These are dangerous speeds NOT honest mistakes. Any good Constable would pull someone over for going that much over in non-highway conditions.

To the point that the big cities of Australia are referred to statistically by the Australian Bureau of Statistics as Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSAs).

Hour to hour and ten depending on the stopping pattern and departure you get.

MARC also has the opposite of regular interval clockface headways, even on the Penn Line. They cannot manage hourly service.

So what’s your take on Canberra? A backwater of less than a million located inland from the coast and far from anything except the magic half way mark between far bigger, far more important Melbourne and Sydney which actually have international airports where you can fly across oceans.

As an Italian, do you have any idea of reasons why some Italian cities can be such models for public transport (looking at Milan) and others like Rome and Naples fall flat?
Some sort of regional rivalry (like the Melbourne - Sydney rivalry is intense and Toronto - Montreal also rival)!?

We have ample evidence these days of the importance of sticking with your principles and to the data, instead of acquiescing in advance to a government trying to consolidate power

Except you’re also accurately describing our leaders and policymakers in Canada.

May I remind you that Canada is supposed to be a democracy, meaning the will and needs of the many outweigh the few unless they impinge on the basic human rights of others (and there is NO human right to congestion free driving or cheap parking).

In MS products on windows two dashes should produce an em dash.
I use Windows PCs when I was in school (a lot of engineering software doesn’t play nice with MacOS or isn’t even available for Mac — looking at you Bluebeam) and for work now.

Heros like Tecumseh and Sir Isaac Brock (who actually wanted to be fighting napoleon but instead was sent to Canada) and Laura Secord (a Canadian lady entertaining American soldiers in her house who overheard their plans, then ran through the night guided by indigenous warriors to the nearest fort.

In Canada, we’re taught how we defended our homeland in the War of 1812 with negligible aid from the British until 1814 because they were too preoccupied with that Failed French Dictator to worry about their colonies. Canadian First Nations taught hard with Canadian militias & small British army.

Not unheard of.
Sydney Metro won’t add a second entrance to Barangaroo Station for several years.
