This is what fascism looks like - using a conspiracy theory about a dehumanized outgroup as a pretext for seizing political power and wielding arbitrary authority. What you read about in the history books is happening right here, right now.
Trump declares war on cities

“We must expand efforts to detain & deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as LA, Chicago, & NY, where Millions of Illegal Aliens reside. These, & other Cities, are core of the Dem Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base”

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

Donald Trump promised that any protests of his military parade will be met with "very heavy" force. Democracy is under attack.
This is disgusting.

If this is how they treat Alex Padilla, a United States Senator, how do you think they’ll treat you?

In Donald Trump's America, if you say "I am Senator Alex Padilla, I have questions for the Secretary," you get thrown to the floor and handcuffed.

Since Jan, Trump administration members have 1) endorsed the Confederacy, 2) endorsed white Afrikaner attacks on the post-Apartheid South African government, 3) given a Nazi salute at the inauguration, 4) endorsed the neo-Nazi party in German elections.

There's a pattern here, but it's subtle.
JD Vance: “I feel like something happened like 10 years ago where every, it’s like you have to think that every single person that who fought for the Confederate side was an evil person. I just think that’s so stupid.”

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Remember when Republicans argued that changing the names of military bases and removing statues was tantamount to erasing history?

They forgot to add that this only holds for straight white men, who made war on the United States during the Civil War.

"Despite the endless handwringing about Biden Old, a sitting president acting like a cross between a 4Chan thread and Q truly is a major concern — one the mainstream media actively minimizes."

Remember when “death panels” was a Republican talking point against expanding health insurance coverage with Obamacare?

Now, cutting coverage and actually sending people to their death is a policy position of the Republican Party.
