Have you seen these women drivers they have now?
jacktindale.bsky.social
They drove a dump truck full of money up to my house, I’m not made of stone!
jacktindale.bsky.social
Still gratified that none of you have taken the bait on this.

hope you’re all ready to empty your bowels for powell today

Give it to Grand Sam 'til end of saison.

The French president could appoint a new prime minister in the next 48 hours, after last-ditch talks between political parties to avoid snap parliamentary elections. on.ft.com/4oa2XfW

Rich people who don't really need the money famously pass up any opportunity to nevertheless still get more money.

I realise that whilst it is just about socially acceptable to chant “The News” to the bars of the BBC on the hour bulletin it isn’t socially acceptable to haphazardly do it in the launderette and I do apologise for that.

Because they take up a big amount of land next to a train station that's been mooted for redevelopment?

They're interesting enough as cooling towers go but this is one area where I just think the economic hit from keeping them around (and presumably maintaining them) just isn't worth it.

One of the reasons I’ve become a convert to “just scrap Grade II” is because of mission creep. What fundamentally is gained from keeping 8 cooling towers around? This isn’t like Bankside/Battersea Power Station where you can get an art gallery or a mall out of it.

And if you were unpopular being forced to set at the end so that the knobbly bits dug into your thigh.
jacktindale.bsky.social
Yes I am in this photo and don't like it fuck off.

Shit at PE whilst still being grossly over-represented by thirty something men who work in public sector and have a decent half-Marathon time.

general vibe of bluesky is "shit at PE"

We've progressed from "under-fire" to "beleaguered". By the end of the year we could be at "floundering".

It was £200 which is annoyingly less than I expected, open to negotiation and unfortunately would absolutely bang given that I'm never going to have "Michael Heseltine importing a giant bust of the dude from a park in Riga" money.

Went up to the framers on the Hill for a quote and came *this* close to buying a massive portrait of Lenin.
jacktindale.bsky.social
Need to get it framed and hung properly (I can’t stand those cheap plastic ones) but quite happy with this Poppy Hill poster I got at auction.

TBF it's been shut, despite being structurally complete, for about sixteen months now so I'm weirdly invested in it to a psychogeographical degree.

I'm the Iain Sinclare of South London Melts.

Reached new levels of Local Gossip Hack by informing the local Facebook group that the long-paused petrol station at the bottom of Anerley Hill is finally opening now that they've agreed to install the EV chargers.
jacktindale.bsky.social
Yep. It apparently borders on the evangelical.

But as you say, it's not just that previous era of "I'm moving for five years to get a deposit for a house, tax-free" any more. It does have that very dubious far-right, ethnically homogenous (well, at least where they live), "I want to have a live-in serf" attitude as prevalent now.

The funny thing is, I don't even think it's *that* new. We had jokes about people moving to Dubai in the mid-2000s.

What arguably has changed is that there's not really an ideological split between electricians/skilled labourers and that sort of arriviste social climbing consultant.
