"15 years ago, Polish workers came here to find opportunity. Now Poland is growing twice as fast as we are," says Kemi Badenoch.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?

Banged newsletter out a couple of hours early because I'm busy all afternoon and don't want to be overtaken by Events.

This week: the Tories are dying, and it’s less fun than I’d imagined? Also: a new way of mapping urban UK; and some anti-car propaganda from the Walt Disney Corporation.
…but with a whimper

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

I guess so. but the pattern would be set out, you had to colour it with poetry. strangled-at-birth treatment for thing about a blameless Cumbrian farmer who becomes famous as a Poet by Numbers star and hangs out with the Beatles and all those 60s poet cats. doesn't sound that mad now to be honest.

No, it's entirely fictional.
