Look at that profit line and explain to me why energy prices need to increase.
UK domestic energy prices will rise by inflation-busting 6.4% in April to £1,849 a year on average.

Fuel poverty will increase. People will cut spending elsewhere, derail economic recovery.

UK energy industry made £483bn profit since 2020.

Govt/regulators don't protect people.
Price cap: Energy bills to rise by more than expected in April
Regulator Ofgem outlines the change in gas and electricity prices from April, affecting 26 million households.

The Whey Eye wheel's pretty underwhelming 🤣 I thought they said it would be the biggest in Europe? 🤷‍♂️

The idea that the world cannot descend into tyranny and that we in the 21st century are somehow innured against it because all that stuff is in the past is very dangerous indeed. There is nothing exceptional about any era or time.

Did anyone ever notice that by today's standards Tchaikovsky would probably be diagnosed with ADHD or Autism?

In 2020 my pg research led me to exactly this conclusion... but funnily enough I didn't have the staying power to write it up and claim an MLitt!

Hear me out👇

Wrapping up the final details on my hand stitched late 18th C inspired fall front trousers. I've learned so much on this project. Not least that clothes just aren't the quality they used to be (and we're no longer taught how to judge that).

Nothing says 'the continued relevance of monarchy' quite like a billionaire, English, unelected king, dressed up as a Scottish laird, turning up at a food bank in a helicopter
The optics of King Charles visiting a foodbank wearing his best Scottish landed gentry outfit are absolutely atrocious.

I love this! I'm sure I've been to this street in Edinburgh.

All the stuff with Trump, Musk, Zuckerberg is... well it's scary. I've deactivated Facebook, and thinking to go the same way with IG. Any suggestions for a visual platform not controlled by these people?

Lovely evening performing in a candlelit concert at Newcastle Castle last night. Indigo sang some Christmas bangers to a sold out hall, and we enjoyed some beautiful singing by Nightigale and the Lark too.

Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
I think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

Yes team! So proud to have been involved in giving a platform to Edinburghs next generation of opera stars! Thanks to everyone at Aria Alba for a great night of music and laughter.

Joined LinkedIn a few days ago... happened to comment on a video of a disabled actress to counter someone claiming that disabilities are only in the mind.

Fast forward 0 minutes and I'm being asked if I am a terrorist that killed 3 people...?

What's going on with the US right now?

Apparently it's stir up Sunday 🤷‍♂️

Celebrating by making a Christmas cake from a recipe passed down by a dearly missed mentor and friend.

For the 'boiled fruitcake method' heat everything except the eggs and flour on the stove until the fruit starts to swell. Cool a bit, mix flour/eggs and bake. 🫶
