Car snoot!

We said goodbye to my grandfather, Myron Schrag, last night. He was an incredible man who spent a lifetime dedicated to peace and social justice. I owe so much of who I am to his teachings and I will miss him so much.

Not a graph crime. They’re talking about two different facets of the same dataset. The chart is showing the share of all adults, while the text is specifically talking about young adults. Here’s the original charts from Pew.

Love to hear it! Common use case where we've had to rely on JS to do the calcs is a bingo card. Each square is a set width/height, but the text content changes. It can be multiline. We want the text to be as large as it can while fitting in the box. Example: www.axios.com/local/san-an...

I had hoped to have this finished by Halloween, but I’m very pleased with how this turned out!

Live in a place that has elections today? Go vote.

Gubernatorial and mayoral races are important, but so are the ones for your state attorney general, state delegate, city council, school board, propositions, etc.

This is your opportunity to weigh in on the group project. Don’t miss it!

TIL it’s National Black Dog Day, which means I have an excuse to share the cutest snoot. Don’t be fooled though, Landra is currently losing her mind because she hears the ice cream truck 😂

Just look at this incredible use of parallel coordinates to show bust, waist, and hip ratio. Or the fact that they 3D printed mini mannequins to physically show the differences!!! Just brilliant work all the way through. 📊

…like the Hunger Games? Because that did not work out for the Capitol in the end.

An incredibly shitty and exhausting (unplanned) week followed by a week in paradise. Tell your people you love them. And then go outside and touch grass*

Highly recommend a hobby that lets you stab fabric repeatedly as a form of stress relief.

@jaredshort.com was very excited when he realized he could use his laser cutter to make the stencils for our spray paint words.

We hosted a murder mystery dinner last night and it was so much fun! @jaredshort.com and I went a little overboard with decorations to fit the theme of the game. We made a sign post, jungle branches & vines, had torches, and made our own “crates” of artifacts & camp supplies.

I don't think @wendyshijia.bsky.social is active on Bsky, but I was so impressed with this post she shared on LinkedIn that I wanted to spread it wider here. She's been experimenting with Blender to create maps to 3d print! Love to see this kind of exploration of mediums. wendyshijia.notion.site

Forgot what I was working on previously when I opened my laptop and was greeted with this 😂

It's the end of the week so I'm sure I did something stupid, but uh...anybody have any thoughts on why my grid/subgrid rows are extending well outside of their container? It's happening only in Safari, and only when I resize the container to less than the max-width on my outermost div.

I aspire to this level of unbothered.

This is also the first time I've made an Instagram-specific version of one of my #dataviz projects. There wasn't going to be a good way to get a vertical timeline with 100+ items to fit, so the only option was to rotate it and go horizontal. We went with a curved line to better fill the space.

I've been working through a logic puzzle book as a form of distraction. Sometimes the puzzles are a bit too much for me to do in my head or jot notes down for. Tonight I had to refresh my T9 and built this little #svelte app to help me decode the message!
