We're playing with Form so don't let legality hold you back! My solution has cards that you'd ostensibly want in some Boros Planeswalkers deck but I hate how on rails it is. I'd play your version.

You would need a way to enter with a loyalty counter so you don't die immediately and Luxior to become a creature for Champions of Archery. Then, I think any Precognition effect gets you there. Experimental Frenzy keeps us in Boros, though.

A good mix of normalization, apathy, and being too damn busy trying to stay afloat.

I came to the realization in my late 30s that my panic does nothing. I volunteer for my local party, contribute what I can to orgs/homies, and focus on what I can control. We can't all function as tiny megaphones.

If you put away like one imagination a day you'll have 400k imaginations by the time you retire bud

Right, but I'm questioning the whole statement, not trying to defend what they said or argue about the status quo. If the allegations were public, they should say it with their full chest without having to "protect" anyone. Major accounts don't get into MTG drama.

Don't short popular billionaires, they prop it up too much. But hard agree if there wasn't big capitalism at play.

You're good, I'm literally just trying to learn here. Thanks for not taking my questions as dismissing.
October 7, 2025 at 4:28 AM
I thought it was public?
October 7, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Sure, I can see that. But I also don't think any of that is particularly good for comp Magic events.

In that policy, would you expect them to address Israel/Palestine? I expect genocide might be a hot button issue.

More the latter than the former, to be sure
October 7, 2025 at 4:23 AM
IDK, I think that's a blanket statement and a guy with a history of being shit isn't inherently worth defending. It also makes people less likely to sign a stupid ass petition in the first place, which is how this gained traction. I think if they stood on business this doesn't escalate.

So the idea is present a vague narrative instead of their very specific, incorrect one? To what end?
October 7, 2025 at 4:10 AM
I don't see how any of this could be misconstrued as a defense of him.
October 7, 2025 at 3:56 AM
I'm asking for perspectives, yeah.

Correct and that was my third tweet, that this wasn't laid out clearly enough by CardTitan

draft, man...
October 7, 2025 at 3:40 AM
3 things:
1. The outlay in time/art to make this Arena-viable meant they had to get SOMETHING from it, but a major IP like Spiderman doing 20k games cannot be a success.
2. We've had 2.5 years since Aftermath. We could have done better.
3. Having FIN Flashbacks ready tells me this was not projected.

Stat info:

This is total games played by 17Lands users. It's totally plausible that there was a big spike in Spiderandos that don't track stats and that's why things look bad. But we'd expect to see that for other UB sets? Idk. Support 17Lands.
October 6, 2025 at 11:00 PM
To recap:

Players sent a clear message to Daddy Hasbro that the set was not for them.

It cost the mothership real money.

FIN is helping, but the damage has been done.
October 6, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Keep in mind that at this point in a draft lifecycle, there should be roughly 30K games being played a day, so clocking in at 20k is down by a significant amount and enough to get someone's ass chewed out.

Also just realizing that these charts should say TOTAL GAMES OOOOOPS
October 6, 2025 at 10:56 PM
Now, did hitting the panic button and bringing back Final Fantasy have any impact? Yes, and it's fascinating.

Because so few people knew, no one was prepared and initially, there were very few FIN drafters. Spiderman is SO unpopular, though, FIN is GAINING players day over day.
