Stories connect us in different ways, so it’s best to stay true to yourself and how art has influenced you in life.

My point is that we should just let them do what they do within reviewing and have a fine line of how we form our thoughts on media, given the knowledge we already have gained on different mediums throughout our lives.

People online have become so dependent on reviewers and the thoughts they give out on certain films they watch, and they treat them as set in stone. A reviewer’s thoughts won’t always be the same and their original rating can often feel irrelevant to how they feel about a movie now.

This is part of me just enjoying my life and taking lots of breaks from social media and the internet since watching movies is obviously a hobby and not my entire life, even if it has influenced me to become a future artist.

No reviewer should be forced to conform to whatever the popular consensus is, either with critics or audiences.

The whole purpose of media reviewing is to give *your* opinion. Trying to push others to like/dislike something more than they do because "objectivity" or something defeats the point.

Reviewers and critics shouldn't have to bow down to their audience if their review is different from the general consensus. If it's different from their opinion, that's fine. Makes their voice more unique than anything. You shouldn't get so attached to what critics say.

If you’re still throwing your anger at someone for liking certain films, you know where the grass is.

Especially when we’re in an age where people unnecessarily make 4-6 hour analysis videos on movies they hate, don’t you want to spend that time learning about something worthwhile?

This is not to disrespect anyone who watches him. He also has every right to his opinions on certain films. It’s just that there are many areas that he should improve in.

And yet people worship him and his opinions like it’s gospel. I’m glad I fully stepped away from his content so that I can focus on my own personal and expansive taste in film and not feeling so snobbish about it.
