This is something that has always confused me. Does Iger/Disney or Lucasfilm have final authority on wether or not something is greenlit or canceled? The Ben solo stuff made it seem like the former. But, as an outsider, it seems strange to hire Kathleen freaking Kennedy, and not give her that power

But that's very literally looking at a plan which requires Nazis to not butcher their way through disfavored ethnic groups - it is a plan that could only have worked if Hitler had not been a Nazi and if he hadn't been a Nazi he wouldn't have started the war in the first place.

That’s actually a fascinating survey question result in terms of numbers

From the proclamation it seems like we’ll be grabbing any sanctioned oil tanker, regardless of warrant (but it’s trump, so who the hell knows) and even then, seizing, rather than boarding them is legally dubious.
(Albeit stuff we’ve done before)

I mean sure, Trump doesn’t care, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t.

The problem is that from a legal point of view the argument that “quarantine” is distinct from “blockade” is not the consensus view among scholars.
at best its “ambivalent”

It’s a testament to how fucked up that situation was that the movie got me to root for the FBI precursor.

One of my fears is that Xi decides to go for it in 2027-2028 precisely Because Trump is still in office and China would miss its chance otherwise.

If domestic law wants to insist on an absolute duty of obedience, then if your commander orders you to do a war crime you are in a situation where you cannot comply with all your legal obligations

(You should commit the offense of insubordination, in that situation. Not the war crime.)
