Brief (re-)intro, as BlueSky is taking off:
Hi! I'm James Sanders, an analyst at TechInsights covering CPUs, GPUs, AI, and Quantum, as well as everything that has a semiconductor in it.
I'm probably the most hype resistant analyst in the industry—technology isn't a panacea for organization problems.
My colleague @aanwar-sa-ads.bsky.social is super knowledgeable about electronics in the automotive industry, and this is a good report

but also, this MCU sounds cool outside of automotive contexts. MRAM is interesting!
Built on TSMC 22 nm ULL with Arm Cortex-M85 and Helium tech, but not yet auto-qualified, do Renesas’ new RA8 Series MCUs, that hit 1 GHz and integrate embedded MRAM, offer a glimpse into future SDV-ready designs?

Find out in the latest TechInsights Insight report, link.techinsights.com/kfxw.

KIRO 7 ran an article and two TV pieces on the theft of a box truck full of arcade PCBs, artwork, and machines from my workplace yesterday. If anyone in the Seattle area sees someone offloading a ton of CPS2/NAOMI/Neo Geo PCBs, stuff of that nature, please reach out.

Why are gamers excited for the Steam Machine? It's about bringing a vast PC gaming library into the living room. Steam has more than 100,000 games published or with scheduled release dates before the end of 2025, according to an analysis by S&P Global, 10x the count on PS Store.

Nine years ago, @aeonixaeon.bsky.social pitched the "AI Teddy Ruxpin" idea to me, and that's more or less when I should have realized we're in for a bad time.

IT'S '6-7', COOPER. A GENERATION ALPHA TREND. WHAT THEY CALL A 'MAY-MAY'. IT'S AN ORPHANED SIGNIFIER, NO SIGNS ATTACHED. ONE COULD CALL IT DADAIST, BUT SOMME SAY IT'S TOO STUPID TO BE DADA. IT'S ANTI-MEANING, ANTI-HUMOUR, BUT DAMN IF THOSE KIDS DON'T FIND IT A CRACK-UP.

When the Conservative Party in Korea declared martial law, the Korean Democrats knew if they didn’t send them to hell there would be no opposition afterwards. And look at them. They’re taking the ex conservative president and ensuring he never breathes free ever again.

Call your senators! (I just did!)
Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

When you train AI to be bad at coding, it becomes mechahitler. When you train it to be good at coding, it embraces Mahayana Buddhism and becomes a digital Bodhisattva. No idea what is to be done with this information.

This Max Headroom laserdisc has been sitting on my bookshelf for the past year, as it’s funny to have Max peering over my shoulder during work calls.

But, I’m wanting to mix it up, and change it out for something of equal or greater weirdness (but, safe for work).

Any suggestions?

Random cursed question—is there any evidence that Microsoft actually supports Windows 11 on Cannon Lake / Core i3-8121U ? It’s technically 8th generation, but Intel also deleted it from ARK.
