Saskatchewan needs to end government (tax payer) funding of private schools too.

Elections Alberta has approved a citizen-initiated petition application to gather signatures in support of the proposal to end public funding to independent/private schools.

Calgary teacher Alicia Taylor says she brought it forward because it could help improve funding for public schools. #AbEd

Best to not to pay attention to anything said about building another pipeline that has no private company interested in funding. Cenovus guy said they support but that's about getting gov't to pay for it- corporate welfare. Taxpayers have already paid for Transmountain. No economic case for one.

"One of the dangers of the American way is that it's America first in everything it does. There is virtually no interest in the ambitions, feelings, needs or sensitivities of any other nation.. It's one of the things that makes us resent Americans much"

? When ? the info is the judge was possibly intoxicated and had an altercation in Arizona (not while sitting as a judge), details of which come in 2 versions. I thought it might be useful to note that no one is immune from medical conditions- stigma is a problem.

Being educated, smart etc spares no-one from any medical condition, diagnosis, symptoms.

Looked it up. $18.7 million of Sask exports went to Israel 2024. With $20 more million not fulfilled. Mostly chemicals AFAICS. Don't think there's any expansion.
-- this is, again, politics, not really about trade. He's targetting a particular voter group.

Dandelions flowers fried in butter, garlic & hot peppers. Then flash fry the bitter leaves in basalmic vinegar. Mix. The contrast is like angels shooting arrows through my tongue.

Sardines, pickled herring, gravlax, raw shellfish, and very very goaty cheese. Eat with burnt fermented drinky things and stinky friends.

Refine + ship finished petroleum products somewhere else is more expensive than ship somewhere else + refine there. Think it's partly about handling & shipping gasoline & other products versus shipping one thing. Same problem with wheat & flour => baked goods, pasta etc.
(Economics only re this)
jamesbicycle.bsky.social
AFAIK, shipping refined gas, oil etc isn't economically viable or they'd be doing it.

An excellent, expert series of posts. "In Dec 2024, Universal Ostrich Farms had a confirmed H5N1 outbreak on their remote farm in BC. They did not report to CFIA as required by law. They lost 69 ostriches. CFIA found out anyway & tested 2 dead ostriches. They were positive. CFIA issued a cull order"

As the accursed ostrich situation continues to get simultaneously more stupid and gravely serious, I decided to write up a very long analysis of many of the key issues. Bottom line: so long as this flock lives, it is a threat to Canada's national security. 🧵

Using ChatGTP / OpenAI. Comments: re things I'm expert on, it includes "other sides" & false info. It uses personal pronouns & emotions to refer to itself- I tell it to stop.
Impression- it's like anyone who "knows" things bc they "researched" it by Google etc. It's 0 to 50% B.S. depending on topic

So:

Carney introduces a border bill designed to placate Trump, despite fact his border claims are BS

Trump ignores; tariffs remain

Poilievre objects, not to the BS rationale for said bill, but because it's an assault on Canadian civil liberties

Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."

This is good —the Mayor of Yellowknife NWT in Canada’s far north weighs in on “Car Bloat” (truck bloat actually) and its many big costs & consequences (thanks @davidzipper.bsky.social for heads-up). And like most who dare tell the truth about that, he’s taking flack.
