That’s ace. There was a great Big Yin one that I saw last April when I was up there with you.
This is an awful picture. The work was quality though.

Here’s one a few miles from me. Not the greatest work ever but it celebrates our heritage, it’s in context, and a fucking human came up with it. I love it- pride in our heritage.

One of my favourite early Manics sleeves.
Would crawl through glass to have had mine signed. Beautiful.

I’m not certain that it’s his actual name. His brother’s surname is Clarke, and while I know it’s perfectly possible that they could have different parentage and therefore different surnames, it suggests that he has changed it (and maybe his first name) which makes it even funnier

He even has his own MI:2 era Tom Cruise brother (sans Lestat lifts in shoes), so there’s def something going on in this family.

Just looking at the cat and his Dilophorosaurus mane, and I can’t help wonder why they never picked up the Barbisol can plot point in Jurassic Park.

The Fly (1958)

This is an absolutely bonkers film, unintentionally funny to modern eyes, but as far as schlocky 50s sci fi horror goes it’s pretty well put together.
The ‘86 remake is a masterpiece and I’m surprised that nobody has taken another run at the material in the years since the sequel.

What I really don’t like is the creep of it into decision making processes.
I was invited to an online interview where they asked to use AI to transcribe and (importantly, worryingly) summarise the conversation. That is problematic, even if not generative. I told them to go fuck themselves

Odd piece of mail to receive from the USA today.
“The enclosed check is the result of a settlement reached by President Trump's Federal Trade Commission (FTC) with Amazon Inc….”

Thanks for the cheque (!) Don, I guess.

I have an interview in the morning.

This next job is my final one, to pay for a studio, then I’m going to hunker down in there until I die
It’s a hard road getting your own thing off the ground, but life’s too short to work for other people

Why are we embarrassed about finding joy in childish things?

I spend my life trying to return to a childish state where I create with an instinctive drive without the baggage of adulthood. There is purity in play. It’s a perfect state of being, and the world would be better if we all gave that a go

I’m pretty convinced that the original lineup is going to to announce something along the lines of a limited reunion tour this year. Bill Berry has featured in more and more posts since the rock and roll hall of fame induction last year.
They said never, and you should never say never.
