✅ Neighbourhood policing at the heart

✅ Government performance unit to drive force-level improvements and end the postcode lottery on law and order

✅ Half a billion pounds of additional funding for policing next year

On Friday I visited Family Fund at their HQ in York Outer.

Family Fund are an incredibly inspiring charity that provide vital support for families raising disabled and seriously ill children.

I visited the Co-op in Woodlesford, to hear directly about retail crime and antisocial behaviour.

Labour has committed to make attacking a retail worker a specific offence, as well as plans to restore neighbourhood policing.

Today I held a public meeting in Haxby on the issue of Anti-Social Behaviour that has been an issue that many residents have emailed me about.

Pleased to be joined by Jo Coles, Deputy Mayor for Police Fire and Crime, and I will continue to work with her on improving safety in our communities.

Earlier this week I launched the York and North Yorkshire Development Forum.

Building on the ambitions of the Business Board, the forum brought together the developers behind key employment sites across the region.

Earlier this week, I spoke in a debate on rural affairs about flooding, biosecurity, and farmers’ mental health.

As Chair of the APPG for Food Security, I’ll be doing more work on each of these topics, which are really important for farmers in York Outer and across the country.

I want to develop healthy and resilient communities, that are connected to opportunity, where people live in warm and affordable homes, where people are connected to the outdoors and where there are safe places for all.
