@garethlpowell.bsky.social's Who Will You Save? is great collection of stories, and each one had me eager for the next. Some of my faves are "Entropic Angel", "Six Lights Off Green Scar", "Apprehension Sands", and "What Would Nicolas Cage Do?" Highly recommend and extra excited now for Jitterbug.
The cover of Gareth L. Powell's anthology, "Who Will You Save?" An astronaut standing on a hill with a green moon rising behind them reaches out to an upside down mirrored astronaut with a blue moon behind them. Between their two opposing words is a starry red sky. The author's name is in white at the top with the title at the bottom.

Or the same with all vegetables. There has to be at least a few you'd like if you tried. Funny when you think fruit is one of the things we're most built to eat!

Happy Wednesday all! One more day off. I got to set up my new laptop, which was great. I can game again! Otherwise I haven't really been feeling positive this week. Feel like I'm on a bit of a downward spiral with my health and fitness. Just gotta pick myself back up. Hope you all have a good one.

Thinking about this quote (and similar) often these days 🫶
A quote on a stylized page graphic with a cute dragon at the bottom:
"The world is indeed full of peril and in it there are many dark places.
But still there is much that is fair. And though in all lands, love is now mingled with grief, it still grows, perhaps, the greater."
Quote from The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

‘Six words or _fewer_.”
A meme. There’s a skull at the top, followed by the words ‘WRITE A HORROR STORY IN SIX WORDS OR LESS’

I'm assuming The Guardian's funding deal with some AI company or other saw 'bullshit' replaced with 'exuberance' in this headline. Bear that deal in mind as you read.

Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

Happy birthday, Sci-fi Queen Sigourney.

And she's far from finished with sci-fi, as she'll be appearing in Avatar: Fire and Ash (Dec. 2025) and The Mandalorian & Grogu (May 2026).

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Hey all, happy Tuesday. I've had a hectic one that involved taking more time from work. Everything's fine, but on the positive side, my wife surprised me with a new laptop for our anniversary this weekend to replace the broken onr, so gonna have to to make time for it! Hope you all have a good one.
