Innocent people end up in our criminal courts.

Completely, terrifyingly innocent.

And all that stands between them and losing everything is a fair trial.

Politicians would do well to remember this when they tell us that justice is all about processing “criminals” swiftly.

A fascinating update on this story: a new study of material associated with Theia (the planet that impacted Earth, formed the Moon & may have left these vast "blobs" under our feet) has concluded it formed in the inner Solar System, a bit closer to the Sun than us:

Johnson should rot in jail.

The awful thing is that Eton poshos don't face consequences. It's all a jolly jape. He'll carry on writing crappy columns & being fawned over as 'Boris' even though he has the blood of 23,000 people on his hands.

Those people had loved ones & were loved.
I remember the early days of the pandemic so, so well. I remember everyone urging the government to do something sooner, it seemed madness not to, but they just wouldn’t. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cm...

I recently wrote something about the science of pareidolia, the "you can't unsee this face in this inanimate thing" bias - and all the examples I found are delightful, ludicrous and worrying! (It's amazing how completely it hijacks our mind.)

I dare you to unsee the following examples.

That final point is absolutely crucial.
The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …
