Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Big acquisitions of stuff like this often puts a burden on maintainers to make the framework work *for* the business above everything else too.

I’ve seen that happen even with our favourites over the years.

Day 5 of the 100 days of code.
It was another hectic day today (seriously, don't adopt kittens unless you have copious amounts of free time), so about all I managed was to read through the Asynchronous Javascript module from @wil.to's Javascript for Everyone course.

#100DaysOfCode #LearnInPublic
This module has so far been one of the most useful to people taking JavaScript for Everyone, so we made it free so you can get an idea of how good Mat is at teaching JavaScript. Maybe it’ll convince you to get the whole course 👀

She refuses to answer questions about the expense b/c she insists she is entitled to spend DHS funds as she sees fit.

Pretty clear which jobs generative AI can replace…
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

an incredibly interesting piece about why rabies is surging in India. spoiler alert: because humans nearly completely eliminated one of the locally native species that helps keep it in check.

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

I think what's happening to Liverpool is their defense and fullbacks are almost non-existent that they are having a hard time setting up their offense from the back. Also, Salah is not the same and having relied on him for almost a decade, his lack of contributions are a big loss.
