I did my three-mile loop around the neighborhood today for the first time since the fire a year ago. It’s still heartbreaking to see the damage in #Altadena.

Los Angeles is a beautiful place, but I struggle to find the right words to describe it. It’s dusty and gritty but then there are the blue skies and the fancy people. In any case, home.

The idea (from that NYT article) that schools can’t have students read books because books are too expensive is just… wow. Here is the top-25 authors of downloaded free books on project Gutenberg. All free. There are some good writers on this list… yes, older, but also, yes, free, and good!
