Going by the transcript, the audio for the bit on Polanski was edited out. Shame. It’s important leaders are held to scrutiny especially since he was a Lib Dem and a hypnotist.

Generous and thoughtful piece on Salt Path. In writing my own memoir, I’ve found the most interesting insights come from the contradictions, the omissions and the culled.

But I hated Salt Path so feel a tiny bit vindicated.

I know we don't feel like there's much to celebrate this July 4th. It's been a rough several years.

So I want to talk about how we're making history right now.

New @abpi.bsky.social guidance risks excluding #HIV advocates from conferences — suggesting we’re too “impressionable” to hear about treatments.

We reject this.

People with HIV are informed, critical partners in progress.

The job of the EHRC is to champion the rights of all protected groups and to foster good relations between these groups helping advise and integrate their interests in non discrimination

Women are unsafe on a daily basis - statistically due to men they already know. Want to make women safer?

Change rape laws, fund refuges properly, end femicide, address misogyny in boys and men, improve healthcare.

Taking aim at trans women does nothing to make women safer.

Yesterday the Supreme Court said (having refused to hear from any trans people): "this interpretation would not be disadvantageous to or remove protection from trans people with or without a GRC."

Today. Trans women - and gender non conforming cis women - are now going to be 'frisked' by men.

We know there are huge ethnic wealth gaps, but we often struggle to explain why. In a new report with @lse-sticerd-case.bsky.social we asked people across the UK to tell us about their experiences of ethnic wealth inequalities:

The Challenge of Ethnic Wealth inequalities - Equality Trust
Wealth is deeply unequal in the UK and getting more so; recent analysis also suggests this increase is particularly stark for younger generations. Within that inequality, the ONS Wealth and Assets Survey indicates a large racial wealth gap.

Slashing benefits to meet an arbitrary fiscal target would be unethical, short sighted and illogical. ❌

2 in 5 people receiving disability benefits already experience hardship.

This means they are either unable to afford enough food, heat their home or pay household bills. 1/3

Might I not so politely suggest that Streeting yeets himself into the sun. Yes, diagnosis has improved, and people are becoming more aware of mental health issues. That doesn't mean they are being "overdiagnosed". It is more likely they were previously under-diagnosed.
