Imo Silksong does this to a FAR lesser extent. It’s also one thing I didn’t like about Hollow Knight and almost 20 h in to Silksong, I’ve purely loved it. There’s some of that but it’s much more generous with shortcuts, checkpoints and options.

Painting tip: You've been rendering for an hour and it doesn't get better. It doesn't look right and you don't know why. Either your values or colors are wrong. Forget the sunk cost and start over. Block with three or four colors, if they work together they look good even as abstract shapes.

I'm pretty sure the customer service people also just don't have the authority to do refunds outside the tos, but I'm hoping that annoying them long enough, they'll direct me to someone who has. I'm trying to sound as impatient as I can without being excessively rude to them.
