Yeah, but what’s Trump secretly building *underneath* his new ballroom? That ballroom makes for a very convenient front.

Today’s a good day to watch that classic Twilight Zone episode, “Nothing in the Dark,” written by George Clayton Johnson and starring Robert Redford. Season 3, episode 16.

It's that time again folks, time to ransack your couch cushions and smash your piggy banks in search of $2.99 for these Kindle deals! Tom Reamy's BLIND VOICES involves a mysterious circus that comes to a small Kansas town, while THE MAN WHO WOULD NOT DIE is an unusual medical-themed ghost story.

Today's newsletter (please subscribe) is about the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert www.readtpa.com/p/stephen-co...
Stephen Colbert's Cancellation Is Exactly What It Looks Like
Mock a Trump bribe on Monday, get canceled by Thursday. The Late Show's death reveals how billionaires and presidents are reshaping American media.

If I were Jimmy Kimmel, I’d let Stephen Colbert guest host my talk show next summer. No rotating weekly guest hosts, just Stephen. Colbert leaves CBS at the end of May, then jumps over to ABC for a few months, leading up to the midterm elections. Make it a total surprise. Think of the ratings.

Stephen Colbert should run for president in 2028. (Assuming fair elections are still on the table in three years.) He has the name recognition, the media training, the liberal base, and ability to fundraise. He’s intelligent and kind, a moral man of faith who’s the perfect antidote to MAGA hypocrisy

I look forward to Colbert’s timeslot replacement: The Dear Leader Trump Propaganda Power Hour.

First they silence the public critics, then they silence the private critics. As Colbert goes, so goes The Daily Show. Another red line crossed in our march to authoritarianism.
NEW YORK (AP) — Stephen Colbert tells studio audience CBS is canceling 'The Late Show,' to end in May 2026.

Rereading some Doyle. I love it whenever Sherlock Holmes pulls a Gene Parmesan, and Watson freaks out like Lucille Bluth.

I just watched #Stick on Apple TV, the new Owen Wilson golfing drama. It’s good, and I say that as someone who’s not a sports fan. That first episode is the best pilot I’ve seen in ages. Structurally balanced, not an ounce of fat; every wannabe screenwriter should study it as a template.
