This is why I remain an advocate for Citizenship in the national Curriculum.

Understanding the technical aspects of how our law and politics works is vital when assessing policy choices.

Laying down the basics at schools gives a better chance that adults can do so later in life.

Literally have spent my own money on so much cereal bars, rice cakes and pens. Last year I lended one of my coats to a Year 8 until his mum got paid and could afford to buy him one. Wouldn’t have it any other way but this says something about how the system relies on its people and not money.
Highly recommend people read this example of the fantastic work (and significant challenges) of schools to support children and their families, particularly in areas of high deprivation.

Every day, 30,000 people worldwide move out of extreme poverty. Every 3 seconds, someone becomes literate. And 80 million children's lives saved since 2000. Not great news for MLF but I’m also not against a revamp that is online CPD based. Makes it easier to access and use. Maybe we’ll even get consulted, who knows!!

Do you know that the single largest reasons folks cite to not give to charity boil down to "I thought someone else was already giving enough?"

Stunts like this aren't just sickening, they directly contribute to people dying from lack of support. Because Cindy saw a post about LOTS of donated costs.

It cannot be said and talked about enough that the greatest threat this generation faces is incel and general anti feminine (not just feminist) behaviour. The way some school boys talk and behave around girls and women is nerve wracking at best
Once any space becomes less than 40% male, (straight) men tend to cede it entirely while shouting about how it “went woke”. Fascinating read:
Why aren't we talking about the real reason male college enrollment is dropping?
We would rather talk about literally everything else.

This is true but also school banning phones is not enough. Covid also has had a massive impact on how young people interact with each other. I’m always shocked when year 7 tell each other to “shut up” out loud in class! No understanding the seriousness of their words and attitudes
Cafeteria melees. Students kicked in the head. Injured educators. Cellphones and social media have increasingly fueled and sometimes intensified campus brawls. The school fight videos then often spark new cycles of student cyberbullying, verbal aggression and violence.
