On my mind today: people who move through the world with presence. Hands -on, attentive, able to look around and immediately sense what needs doing and who needs support. The ones who steady others in a crisis, bring people together. I wish I am that kind of person.

Heard a story this morning about a woman whose 1920s Corona typewriter steered a course of her life. Her grandmother taught her to type on that typewriter, and she even brought it to her 1960s job interview to showcase how fast she can type. #LifeStories #Nostalgia

The year begins, bathed in sunshine and crisp, fresh winter air. Alas, I find myself confined indoors with a nasty head cold. Sleep is interrupted by coughing fits, leaving me with tired, red eyes and all the usual symptoms.

The owner of the whole foods and refill store across the road wanted a recipe. I was buying courgettes there and told him what they are for. It sounds really good, I am interested, he said. E-mailed him the recipe, with the photo of the final product 🙂

At the ceramics workshop in Budapest this morning! Thought I’d be rubbish at it but it was easier than I thought. And the staff helped whenever needed.

Packing for the next few days in Budapest done. Now, some ghost stories, reading made even cosier with the crackle & roar of the on-screen fireplace. Over in the kitchen, the washing machine is humming, gurgling, while my mind wonders over to the bag I packed, worrying I’d forget to bring something.

Sifting through documents, letters, invoices, receipts. Getting rid of the pile of papers I don’t need any more is so satisfying. Also satisfying: having a giggle with my husband when I showed him my high school and Uni log books with grades history 🤭
