...was also hired as a consultant by the Russian-backed secessionist regime in Banja Luka. In October 2025, the US lifted virtually all its sanctions vs. Dodik and his regime, weeks after M. Flynn had praised Dodik - a close ally of Putin and Orban...

The US is tapping AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC to construct a major energy pipeline in Bosnia, a firm headed by Joseph Flynn and Jesse Binnall.

Joseph Flynn is the brother of Michael Flynn, Pres. Trump's former security adviser, who we learned in December...

A longer comment of mine from the Bad Site on the bizarre historical and legal fictions which inform the "January 9" genocide triumphalist "holiday" in BiH's RS entity.
January 10, 2026 at 6:46 PM
Blagojevich also made grotesque comparisons between January 9 and July 4. January 9 is literally synonymous with the onset of the first genocide in Europe since 1945, and was struck down as a "public holiday" by the BiH Constitutional Court for that reason; that it celebrates killing, torture...

2. Dodik's chief US lobbyist, the former Illinois Gov. and convicted felon Rod Blagojevich, enjoyed a particularly prominent role at this year's "ceremonies". Aside form the footage posted by Dodik himself, showing Blagojevich singing a Serbian patriotic hymn from WWI in a crowded bar...

...after having purportedly secured concessions from Dodik to moderate his attacks against the BiH state and the US-brokered Dayton Peace Agreement, Dodik et al have, as expected, reneged on their deal. Both today's paramilitary march, and Dodik's accompanying media tour...

This year's January 9 paramilitary march by the Kremlin-backed Bosnian Serb secessionist regime in Banja Luka, glorifying the onset of the Bosnian Genocide, was noteworthy for two reasons:

1. Despite the US decision to lift sanctions against Dodik and his regime late last year...

This has held up well, I believe.

Easily the largest portrait of a Montenegrin I’ve ever seen.

Scripture reiterates the same message, time and again. As Zechariah 7:10 says: “oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.”

Merry Christmas, and peace - blessed peace - to all. ✨

Incredible scenes today in Banja Luka, with the most senior levels of both the Plenkovic govt of Croatia and its HDZ BiH proxies trumpeting their support for the Kremlin-backed Bosnian Serb secessionist regime in the RS entity. Not even Orban or Vucic have so boldly feted Dodik.

The National Defense Authorization Act, which Congress is expected to pass in the coming days, feat some robust measures re: the W. Balkans, incl mandating POTUS w/in 90 days of its passage to impose sanctions on any person identified as undermining the Dayton Agreement.

Analyses by the BiH branch of @anticorruption.bsky.social suggest the results in 40 voting sites in BiH’s recent special election indicate improbably rapid voting, a clear indicator of fraud (by Dodik’s candidate Karan). They say the results at these sites affect some 8,500 votes.

An important debate in the UK House
of Lords this week re: the developments in BiH. Especially key, as clarified through this question by Lord Browne, that UK government does not intend to remove its sanctions vs. Bosnian Serb secessionists Dodik and Cvijanovic.

Many empires and armies have come and gone, their trinkets long bereft of luster. But the stone remembers, old peoples and their older ways.

A joyous Statehood Day to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to its many friends far across its verdant hills as well.

For reference, with nearly 100% of the vote counted, Blanusa trails Karan by some 8,300 votes. The SDS is claiming in Doboj alone the SNSD tampered with c. 5,000 votes. No one expected this election to be still murkier - or closer! - than the Dodik-Trivic race of 2022 yet here we are.

Emerging OS evidence backing claims of significant irregularities in BiH's special election in RS entity: in Zvornik, SNSD's Karan won by a far greater margin in 2025 than Dodik won in 2022, while trailing his boss in the total vote count by 2k votes yet with a 10k vote decline in approved ballots.
November 24, 2025 at 1:17 PM
The ruling secessionist SNSD has published the first unofficial results from the RS entity special election in Bosnia and Herzegovina to replace Milorad Dodik as entity president. SNSD candidate, Sinisa Karan, as was widely expected, appears to be leading.

Pleased to be back in London for a series of conversations on the critical role of the UK in the security of the Western Balkans, especially the Atlanticist aspirations of vulnerable democracies like Kosovo and BiH.

The same day HDZ authorities in Croatia bar entry to the most prominent investigative reporter in the W. Balkans, an N1 crew is assaulted on the main square of Zagreb.

Clear indicators of democratic backsliding and declining press freedom in the EU's most recent member state.

Today marks 32 yrs since the destruction of Mostar’s Old Bridge by Croat nationalist forces under command of war criminal Praljak during the Bosnian War. One of the most grotesque acts of “culturcide” of the 20th century.

Recent events suggest a renewed surge in nationalist extremism in Croatia.
