A lot of the positions people like RFK jr. take (anti-vax, anti-pasteurization etc.) get described as “controversial.”
They’re not. There is no controversy. This is long-settled science. The correct term is “stupid.”

CoolCoolCool…just in time for uneducated to take control of our government. I don’t think the people who work in healthcare can handle another pandemic with the did my own research group in charge
What this means is that the bird flu virus (H5N1} has*potentially* found a mutation that brings it closer to infecting humans more easily.
The preliminary sequence from the H5N1 human case in British Columbia has been posted and it is not good news. The virus potentially has a quasispecies at HA residue 226 (H3 numbering). This is bad news because we know that mutations at residue 226 can increase binding to human receptors. 1/
