Oxford Bus Co has announced more frequent bus services from November to coincide with the congestion charge coming into effect. The improvements mean Blackbird Leys and Cowley will have services to the city centre every 10 minutes, while Iffley Road gets a new night bus.

I'm quite appreciative of the FT's journalism, which is well worth the subscription costs, but this use of 'hard left' is joining 'wealth creator' in my business journalist jargon pet peeve bin.
jasonmosley.bsky.social
Some good points in this essay, but why echo and normalise the Maga-ish framing of 'hard left' for what is acknowledged in the essay as 'middle of the road'? America is not Europe, obviously, but this seems self-contradictory.

⚫️ 12 years ago, 368 people lost their lives in a tragic shipwreck off the coast of Lampedusa.

Preventable deaths at sea have not stopped. 25,470 people have gone missing in the central Mediterranean since 2014.

We must not forget.

Well made points on national ID.

Some args I see against universal ID:

1. “I don’t like the way the govt is arguing for it, making it all about immigration”. I’m not keen on a lot of this govt’s comms but the route to a majority on this issue runs through more authoritarian voters so it makes sense to go big on framing like this
