I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

My read on MTG is that she’s out there and has abhorrent beliefs but they are sincere as compared to the majority of her colleagues who are position taking as convenient. I think she is genuinely shocked to realize they are not fellow travelers.

Agree, with that last point particularly. The main constituency I know for the 2SS are liberal American Jews who have not thought too deeply about it but don't like the status quo and also believe it is important to have a Jewish state.

It also feels notable that this behavior reportedly alienated all of Jahn's real-life friends. On some level it must be a coping mechanism for some sort of deeper depression or disconnection. These guys are falling an abyss and end up tumbling into weird corners of the internet.
