My point is: as much as US doesn't understand Europe and Asia, and Asians don't really understand the West - it is mutual. Most of us don't really understand Asians and thus can underestimate catastrophically.

China july like ruskies are a Chanate type land empire. Those can be mistaken for "calm" as long as you don't have a mutual land border. Ask Tibet, Vietnam, Korea and ruskies for that matter. Sino Soviet conflicts restarted as soon as Mao's friend Dzugashvili kicked the bucket.

Russia has more than enough demographic potential to become again the Gendarme of Europe, if you subtract the US and Turkey from the equation. More than this, if they win this war they reassert their sphere of influence over in imperial terms "Central Asia". Usbekistan has EXCELLENT demographics.

Against a moskau that is governed by an unqualified kleptocrat with delusions of grandeur? Yes and probably. Against a China or reformed but barbaric moskau.. not sure and let's hope it will never come to the test.

We will need a lot of ammo to get that chance. And what's even more in deficit: people willing to use it to protect said chance.

The myth of their competency is just that: a convenient allied myth. The truth is: they were incompetent populists, but everyone around them acted with triple the stupidity in the 30s.

Modern ruskies remind me of them.

My favorite Mossad ops were conducted in Argentina.

I'd be not the first antisemitic Jew in history, but - no ☺️ not an antisemite and not an anti-zionist.

To the phrase: it is a cold war legend, that it was a curse uttered by Mossad operatives to rivals. Meaning: may your clandestine operations go bust and public.

Ukrainians are as guilty of this as anyone. My countryman never understood the differences, just assumed that people in Perm think and live just like people in Poltava. That's why interviews done by Zolkin are that popular. It reliably delivers cultural shocks.

People writing this don't know anything about ruskies, never intimately talked with anyone outside of the moskau intelligencia (who are generationally trained in hiding their actual views in "gentle society") and just project themselves onto the population of the dying empire.

Same thing with other identities including Jewish. The repressions that started with "trial of doctors" were paused. It all resumed only after "victory". 1947 you have the next Holodomor targeted at reducing the Ukrainian population and Jews afraid enough not to teach Yiddish to their kids.

Just because stalin had to concede that they can't continue with eradication of the colonial population and at the same time expect that population to fight a "liberation" war against Germany. Songwriters were for example allowed to write about "Soviet Ukraine" again. That was stopped again 1946ish.

Post 1942 they moderated shooting elites. Butcher zhukov and co. didn't change anything. It's a system. What they did change is temporarily going back to lenins' tactics that allowed voicing national identities and ideas, modifying propaganda and for example instituting the Khmelnytsky Orden.

Not to say that the pervert won't use this as a pretence for kicking some people from rival camps out of some windows and sending some to Lefortovo.. the Kremlin Tower that controls MOD is now sitting on the single largest pile of cash in the country, the competition is fierce.

2. Oh nonono.. this is not policy enforced from the top, this is because our micromanager dictatorship, that is able to put a teenager behind bars for googling words we don't like, does not control our army lol. And Butcha too.

Both points are Boolshit. Nothing will change, everything is by design.

You're an optimist. They're just rhetorically reacting to exiled idiots and westerners who "care", owning both. They basically express:

1. "Thanks to the 'investigators' for pointing to a troubled spot, your contribution to making killing Ukrainians more efficient is welcome".
