OK, it’s not 2016, by 7 days, but I’ve gone through my camera roll and I thought this was the most shareable thing - proof that I was among the first 1,000 people to discover the Beatles.

❌ No New Zealand
❌ Middle East (sort of?) gets an outline but no label
❌ Massive fictional island between Scotland and Norway
❌ Greenland too close to Europe
❌ No Sri Lanka.

✅ Britain looks great!

Don’t go to bed until you’ve made another satisfying dent in your Christmas shopping by ordering a copy of the Map Men book for your Uncle Barry for the temporary low price of £8.33.

URGENT NEWS!!!!

You've only got until Thursday to buy the Map Men Book for the very discounted price of £8.33.

Do it right now, and you'll tick off Uncle Colin from your Christmas shopping list. That's one less thing to worry about.

If you enjoyed the map of English accents we used on the new episode of #MapMen, I highly recommend checking out the original by @starkeycomics.bsky.social which includes bits of Scotland/Wales/NI that we had to chop off. Brilliant article to go with the map too!

If you ever find yourself writing a book, I highly recommend including the sentence “Britain has an unparalleled variety of crisp flavours” so that, at a signing event, a French person can meet you and say “oh no you don’t.” and give you a big bag of pesto and mozzarella flavour crisps.

@jonnelledge.bsky.social Hooray! Both our books are in today’s Times.

1. Sorry the photo’s cropped. My dad whatsapped it to me.

2. The typo might be good news if it means Times readers get ten more borders than they were expecting.

Due to an administrative error, all copies of the Map Men book ‘This Way Up - When Maps Go Wrong’ are being displayed with the arrow pointing down.

Please, if you see our book in any bookshop over the next few weeks, can you turn it the right way up?

Many thanks!

(Foyles, London. Fixed! ✅)
