When a singer starts to play the harmonica at a concert, why does everyone there lose their freaking minds? It’s like they’ve never heard a harmonica before. Or any other instrument. Or music. Or sound.

I'm like 100 years old. I go out maybe four times a year, and I try to be home by dark. But I love this place in Grand Rapids, Midtown GR. Intimate. Good beer. Great sound. Wonderful people. And they bring performers like David Francey and Terra Spencer to our little town. We should support it.

If Lake Michigan is west of you and Lake Huron is east of you, then you should go to the Books and Mortar bookstore on Cherry Street in Grand Rapids. It will restore your faith in stores. (There’s something clever to be done with that last bit, but I can’t figure out what.)

Very strange fishing year ended in November the way it started in March with a northern pike in just about the same spot. @michiganfisherman.bsky.social @northernpike.bsky.social @freshwaterfish.bsky.social

This injured hawk came to my back door when it needed help. I like to think that says something about me.
