Editors are present for authors. And boundaries are important on all sides. We don't lose sight of that. In fact doing both makes me better at both roles. All said, looking forward to delving into more words, more structure/revision, and being fully offline in June to focus while traveling.

Most of my career was in book production while editing on the side. Doing book acquisitions can sap you with all the demands, meetings, development of others work. So it's really important if you enjoy being in fields as a FT gig and separately to know your boundaries and needs to fill *your* well.
