these are oligarchs so detached from the experiences of regular people that when they workshop lines like this, they think they've really nailed it
Trump’s commerce secretary Howard Lutnick says if Social Security skipped a check, his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain—and if you would, it indicates you are probably a fraudster. Insane.

This is evil. Every American value I hold dear is being attacked.
The FBI is trying to criminalize Habitat for Humanity for receiving climate grants from the EPA.

Yes, the nonprofit that builds houses for low-income people.

This clearly demonstrates just how absurd and extreme the Trump regime has become.
It's targeted harassment.

Today, we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before.

But the greed of the oligarchs never stops.

Now, in order to get huge tax breaks, they want to cut back on Social Security, Medicaid and veterans programs.

Together we can stop them. We must stop them.

🧵 The passage of this dangerous Republican funding bill is a travesty. The ongoing administrative coup led by Donald Trump and Elon Musk is a constitutional crisis. The authoritarians stripping away our rights and trying to loot the government to enrich the billionaires are a five-alarm fire.

I tried to fact check this bizarre answer on @maddow.msnbc.com by trying to get in contact with DOGE. There’s no phone number or email publicly available. If a Member of Congress couldn’t get in touch with DOGE how do they expect anyone else to?

Hey Adam Kinzinger, I support you and ask you to run for Senator of Illinois. Durbin is ready to retire. I am an 80 year old Democrat and I will vote for you.
March 15, 2025 at 12:20 PM
Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois needs to retire. He is old and does not have the energy to fight for veterans, seniors, sick people and for the future of the generations of America. Take a nap, Dick.

I’m not surprised Durbin voted yes for tge Republican budget. He is old and needs to retire.
During the Biden administration, Senator Durbin fiercely defended the filibuster. Why defend tools like that if you won't use them? We are deeply disappointed that @durbin.senate.gov conceded to the Republicans and voted for cloture on the MAGA funding bill.
There is very little about this CR that I like—but there is even less I like about a government shutdown. With Trump & Musk taking a chainsaw to the government’s workforce & illegally freezing funding, the last thing we need to do is plunge our country into further chaos by shutting down the govt.
