I have the same suspicion.

Both this and the decision to send planes to El Salvador on March 15 in spite of Boasberg's order seem to come from him.

Then he goes out and shrieks on TV, including on TV that SCOTUS watches.
I have a feeling that Miller is single-handedly stopping the admin from just getting this guy back. From a legal POV it would be better for the government’s case if they can show the ability to correct error. But Miller is pathological about getting brown people out and not letting them in

This meets @schumer.senate.gov's test of "defying the Supreme Court."

SCOTUS unanimously held Abrego Garcia "was subject to a withholding order forbidding his removal to El Salvador, and that the removal to El Salvador was therefore illegal."

But Trump admin says right person, right place.
Stephen Miller claims on Fox News that returning the Maryland father who was wrongly deported to El Salvador would constitute a "kidnapping" and "invasion of El Salvador's sovereignty."

"He was not mistakenly sent to El Salvador," Miller lies. "This was the right person sent to the right place."

This is a good question. In 2017 big law firms spoke out and pledged to take cases pro bono. This time, it's ominously quiet. I fear Big Law, like big business is hedging to avoid being on Trump's enemies list. Shameful.
Seious question, Marc:
Are there enough lawyers who will take up the cases against Trump & his administration to halt or at least tie up these insane EO's and other pending laws to mitigate the damage being done?

In the reactionary imagination, Trump is *not* part of the “ruling class” - because “It’s about culture” as Dreher puts it. That’s the same reason why Clarence Thomas, according to Ron DeSantis’ new book, is not “ruling class,” while every lefty student and activist absolutely is.

The virtual public square has been deliberately shattered, the political discourse (re-)fractured, intentionally making it a lot harder for the perspective and criticism from people with no access to powerful institutional platforms to break through and shape the discussion.
