Two things can be true: A dictator no longer ruling Venezuela is good. And the leader of a representative democracy initiating unconstitutional military action to claim some oil and start a regime change war no one wanted without the legally required congressional approval, like a dictator, is bad.

Can we please add "due to corporate subsidies" whenever we talk about how many people rely on snap benefits. I mean every time, all the time, unrelentingly.

For example, the Republicans' effort to stop Revolution Wind project has gotten a minor amount of mainstream and social media attention, but @magaziner.house.gov committee hearing questioning about their arbitrary and capricious attempt to stop it has less than 500 views.

It seems to me one of the best arguments to the court is that if this is truly a national emergency, the president’s own party controls Congress but has done nothing to address it with legislation, so how can it possibly be an emergency?

Three Republican presidents were male cheerleaders in college: George W. Bush at Yale, Ronald Reagan at Eureka, and Dwight D. Eisenhower at West Point.

I'll wait for the GOP to comment on that, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Sorry America, but it's not Australia's fault that your healthcare system is failing you | John Quiggin
Sorry America, but it's not Australia's fault that your healthcare system is failing you | John Quiggin
Donald Trump has blamed ‘freeloader’ countries like Australia for the high cost of medicines. Unfortunately the grim statistics tell a different story * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast If I were president of the United States, I would certainly be concerned about the cost and performance of the country’s healthcare system. The grim statistics are well known. As of 2022, the US spent $12,555 per person on healthcare, almost twice as much as other wealthy countries, including Australia. That gap alone cancels out about half of the difference in income per person between the US and Australia, according to World Bank estimates. Higher expenditure on healthcare would not be a problem if it delivered a healthier population. But this is not the case. The US has one of the lowest life expectancies of any rich country. And even though more Americans die young, those who survive have worse health than elsewhere. Americans suffer from chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma and depression at around twice the (age-adjusted) rate of other rich countries. Continue reading...

To date, you have made OVER 500,000 calls via 5 Calls to your Senators to oppose HR 1 🔥📞🔥

NC Senators have received the most calls and notably Thom Thillis was one of 2 Republican NOs on the procedural vote last night.

Keep the pressure up! The fight on the floor is not over...

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Ukrainians continue to suffer from russian senseless terror.
They won’t stop, because that’s the only thing they’re capable of. But you can help protect Ukrainians from them:

Let this sink in.

Even the Los Angeles Police Chief, Jim McDonnell, made it clear: the people protesting immigration raids were not the ones causing violence.

During a Sunday evening press conference, McDonnell condemned the violence as “disgusting”

This is what I support. Freedom from tyranny and the ability to fight back against tyrannical countries that invade their peaceful neighbors. Slava Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Today was a historical moment, of a scale yet to be understood by millions of people.

This is what makes a big difference. This is also what actual demilitarization looks like.

Kudos to everyone who made it possible. You did the entire world a huge favor.

Law enforcement officers should never cover their faces when making arrests or conceal their identities (unless they are working undercover). They work for us. We have a right to know who they are. These face coverings are frightening & unAmerican, as though they're ashamed of what they're doing.
