James Millward: "One of the things about history in China is that it's very, very often, for thousands of years, been controlled by the state. And I really don't want to see our own history be Tiananmenized the way that the Chinese Communist Party tries to censor its own past."

Charlie Kirk fans threaten HBCUs because they want to lash out at Charlie’s enemies, and theirs, and they’re conceding that means black people. Not ONLY, but definitely.

Trump’s FBI Director, Kash Patel, is under fire for spreading misinformation about the Charlie Kirk case, undermining confidence in the bureau, forcing out the counterterrorism agent in Utah with expertise in these types of investigations, and cursing out agents for his own failures.

To explain this photo a bit more: back then, most programming was done on paper (sometimes on special coding sheets), then punched onto cards/tape, then fed into a mainframe to be tested (& if necessary debugged). Counterintuitively, needing LESS computer time was the mark of a better programmer!

You know that scene in an action movie when the bad guy runs through the kitchen of a restaurant and pulls down all the pots and pans behind him to slow down his pursuers? We're in that part of the Trump presidency.

Sometimes I need to take a step back and get the very basics. That's what this episode with @armscontrolwonk.bsky.social is about.

How do we know? What's the evidence? What's the history? Didn't we already have an Iran deal?
A History of the Iranian Nuclear Program
ometimes it’s good to back up and ask the basic questions: How do we know Iran was even developing nuclear weapons?

We won’t amplify it, but the president posting that Dems are “sick of mind” and “hate our country” immediately after 2 Dem lawmakers and their spouses were shot in their homes is the opposite of leadership. Gas on the fire.

A fascist state looks like a duly elected Senator being manhandled by police for questioning executive abuse of power.

Not surprising considering the instigation and escalation of violence we’ve seen from ICE and DHS in Los Angeles. The people deserve better.
