It’s taking all of my willpower not to ask every patron in this bar if they know that Flea and Dave Navarro played bass and guitar on “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette

But did you guys know that???
The bar I’m at is playing an absolutely immaculate playlist

-“I love you always forever” by Donna Lewis
-“Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey
-“Creep” by TLC

Which just reminds me that “Always Be My Baby” is one of the best songs ever made. Perfect.

I've been haunted by this since I read it. All I have to say is there isn't a level of Hell hot enough for anyone who perpetrated this cruelty on children.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

NEW @ms.now: The lawyer representing the woman who was shot 5x by a Border Patrol agent in Chicago in Oct says the agent is the subject of a criminal investigation by the US Attorneys Office. This would be a remarkable shift in a case that started w/ the gov’t trying to prosecute the woman he shot ⬇️

The attorney for Marimar Martinez says prosecutors told him the agent who shot her five times is facing a criminal probe.

Maybe the best signing the Mets made all offseason.
SNY has announced the hiring of former WaPo baseball writer Chelsea Janes as their new MLB Insider. Excellent hire and exciting news for Mets fans.

I ended up on the phone for almost two hours hearing about the "deep state" "cabal," "Satanists," poison soda, and the "pure evil" of "gay pride." talkingpointsmemo.com/news/meet-th...

This woman in her robe and slippers is iconic. What a photo.
Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

The first reports of Charles Exum being placed on administrative leave have surfaced in the last 24 hours.

He shot Marimar Martinez 5 times on Oct 4, 2025.

The gov't dropped charges against her in Nov.

It took 4+ months for body cam footage to be released and Exum to be placed on leave.

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

My god.

If you are going to read one thing today, make it this.
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.
