The more power held, the more the chains of responsibility bind a true leader, whether parents, teachers, managers, law enforcement, politicians, or state heads. A leader walks the walk. When power is abused, punishment should increase in harshness with increased responsibility and harm.

Hilariously sad, this call between Trump and Putin. Accomplished zilch, yet claimed as a success. And this is enough for MAGA base to get behind.

All men are born equal, or so the Declaration of Independence indicates. After which our constitution was adopted, which broadly provides freedom from tyranny by limiting the opportunity for those with power to abuse it. Without it, all that matters is power and money. Equality be damned.

It is saddening to read through the Declaration of Independence and compare it to our current situation. Too many of the indictments have modern analogues.

The lives of American troops - and every American life - depends on the people in charge of our government taking their responsibilities seriously. But again and again, including with the incompetence that came to light today, they are demonstrating the opposite.

I can’t understand the cruelty of mocking someone who lost their job due to recent funding cuts. People get so caught up in politics that they forget these federal workers and scientists are their neighbors, just trying to make a living. We’re all stronger when we support each other.

Alrighty. So DOGE deals with a bunch of nickels and dimes on software licenses and “transgender” mice, and then spends billions of taxpayers money funding a space company that fails as often as it succeeds and repeats then replicates well documented science.
Apparently, the CDC are going to investigate the link between vaccines and autism again. Total waste of resources when it has already been conclusively shown that there is no link.

I was invited to speak on a panel about misinformation, AI, and the "sociology of the future," but sadly, I can no longer attend due to the recent funding cuts. Hard not to see a bit of dark irony in that.

I just can’t . . . confusing transgender with transgenic is right up there with confusing homo sapien with homosexual. And this administration thinks they’re qualified to sniff out corruption. Ha!

A study found that two-thirds of high school students couldn’t tell real news stories from ads on a website, and 96% failed to identify an organization's fossil fuel industry ties when assessing bias.
