All power to your elbow sir.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The UK’s laziest Councillor?

Reform UK’s Councillor Shaun Knowles in Northumberland has been paid £9340.67 since becoming a councillor.

An FOI has shown he’s sent 2, TWO emails since May!

He’s attended just 1 meeting (in Sept) since elected.

Reform UK wasting tax payer money.

Removing the two-child limit accounts for less than 1 per cent of social security bill. To remove 450,000 children out of poverty, that's pretty good return on investment.

By mimicking Reform to win back support, the Labour government is making a serious mistake. This race to the bottom emboldens Farage, punishes vulnerable people, amplifies racism, and undermines those working to hold communities together.

UK | Judge said he’d need a “clear, evidence-based and statistically sound analysis” comparing asylum seekers to the settled population — the judge said: “There is no such evidence before the court”.
Epping Council lost High Court bid to block asylum seekers being housed in the Bell.

Noting the council offered no evidence to back claims that asylum seekers are more likely to commit crime - the beak said:

“There is no such evidence before the court”.

Exactly.

Thank you Cathy. At least I can now say my writing is similar to John Buchan's.😇

I've written a couple of things over the last days about how the government and much of Westminster remaining on X as the platform becomes increasingly toxic is having consequences for our politics...
Our politics is increasingly normalised to racism – because politicians are addicted to X
The platform has quietly dragged British politics into a dark place

Away with the Bishops from the Lords. Not only are professed Christians now a minority of the UK Population but the C of E is a minority Christian sect. They do not represent me or the vast majority of the UK.
Decades of consternation over gay marriage have shown the Church of England to be institutionally homophobic.

Its doctrine is its own affair, but this minority religion has no business being an arm of the state.

Everything he's reported to have said in this BBC piece sounds like he's desperately trying to distance himself, knowing that the connection is real and toxic. If the press were investigating Farage with the same enthusiasm they went for Rayner, he'd be done for.
