Halloween is the perfect example of how the time spent in or around cars are the most dangerous periods of any day for most Americans. And it is rarely acknowledged on a wide scale.
Yes, Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for child pedestrians—great advice from @mcbazacophd.bsky.social

Yesterday's No Kings protests were apparently the largest since the first Earth Day in 1970
The NYT covered that story with a six column headline across the top of the paper and two full pages inside
Today, two small pics below the fold and a story on page A23
They constantly let America down

My superpower is noticing castoff castiron on the sidewalk as I bike by. This is the fourth piece I’ve found in the last year or so. I was just talking with my daughter and said ‘the missing thing I need is a cornstick pan, wouldn’t it be funny if I found one!’ And last night…. #castiron #biketooter

Ordered 20AH USB batteries and they are a LOT chunkier/heavier than expected (guess I _should_ have expected them to be 2X size and weight of the same brand 10AH batteries There's no magic) Thinking they are my car camping/pwr outage batteries now, too heavy to carry when traveling or a night out

Lots of drains looking like this in Cambridge right now with all the leaves that are coming down. Unplugged the dirt plugs in the holes and tried to move leaves out of the gutter, but the streets are full of them right now so I wonder if we’ll get some flooding w/ the rain. #mawx #cambridgema
