ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...

People all over Portland, Oregon were impacted by the chemical warfare deployed by the feds tonight. Here’s a thread of some Portlanders experiences who weren’t even at the protest:
Lots and lots of teargas and various other munitions. People yelling for medics. Ambulance came for one person already and there was a brutal arrest amidst all of this

Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks.

They gassed the whole crowd as soon as it marched on ICE, in broad daylight.

Is it just the middle of the night or am I reading the implication in the Global Game Jam’s latest newsletter that Epic pushed GGJ to remove their CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 license requirements, so that non-open-source Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) submissions are allowed??

Buttons are back. Knobs are back. Dumb devices are back. Own-it-forever software is back. Print is back. Personal websites and chronological feeds are back. Touching grass is back. People keep saying 2015, but it’s not far enough. The entire 2010s were a mistake. We must retvrn to… 2009.

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

Oh good, thank you @emanuelmaiberg.bsky.social for writing on the weird AI generated descriptions of posts now happening in Google search.

This has been driving me nuts specifically with the gay dom-com Pillion, whose trailers are getting described as “a woman expressed her devotion to a man” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Okay archaeologists / egyptologists, I’m curious - is this a legally sellable item by Goodwill?

Buyers seem to be betting on it being genuine. And the AI description boldly says “The artifact appears crafted in a historical period and exhibits cultural significance”
